EPSIODE 99
NIGHT FALLETH
Professor Robinson, shaken beyond belief at the creature’s actions, had no idea what had happened, or why. He was convinced if Sharkie had been accused of failing, then he too must wear the same accusation, for it had been him that had instructed his now deceased accomplice on every single aspect of their day-to-day activities. But the proxy was quite willing to tell him the truth of the matter. “You should have died with them, for you were the main reason for what went wrong; you failed to kill Joseph when you had the chance and, as a result, you have placed my life in danger. But the future shows you will have a second chance at redeeming yourself if I let you live… so you have been spared until that time exists. But fail again … you have already witnessed how the outcome will be.
Then, to Professor Robinson’s absolute horror the creature began to whirl around the room. His movements so extreme, so volatile, Professor Robinson thought that the future had already arrived …and he had failed again. The creature swirled … and whirled … and whirled around him so fast, so menacingly, that he was becoming dizzy; on the verge of collapsing. Suddenly the room became a blur, a white nothingness covered the room and Professor Robinson found himself blinded in the room and closed his eyes as unrequested tears immediately came to the fore; tears, his bodies defence against the wicked whiteness of the room seeping easily from his eyes and rolling down his face. Then, his eyes still shut, his mind still confused, a pressure began to be applied to his entire body; a pressure that could be felt on every single component that makes him human from head to foot. He felt he was being packaged and gift wrapped. Every part of his body felt like it was being flattened, bent to shape, flattened again then folded over and over again and again until it was ready to be on forwarded; his body compressed as it he been a newly purchased suit that had to be folded into shape to fit within the confines of a particular suitcase, and never gain a crease. Then Professor Robinson wondered if perhaps his entire head was going to be crushed to a pulp in the same manner as the rest of his body. But he survived the ordeal, and when the process was completed, his reorganised body suddenly felt he too was travelling in the cyclone the creature had created – and he passed out. When he came to, he found himself travelling in his own vehicle along the highway heading to London. But it was only when the lights of the oncoming semi flashed its brilliant beam into his eyes warning the car, he was travelling in was beginning to wander into the oncoming lane, did he realise that he was the only one in the car … and he was driving.
Then, like what had happened inside the police station, Professor Robinson’s world also turned to complete darkness …
